What
is the Upbeat Times?
By Paul Andrew Doyle, Publisher
The Upbeat Times is a positive monthly publication available in over
500 locations throughout Sonoma County, and several dozen locations
as far as Eureka and as far south as Marin County, California. Our
readership is roughly 45,000 people and growing rapidly as last
count.
Originally the paper began in
1998 in Northern California
as a shopping guide with fun and positive news submitted by the
public, along with humor, facts and fun pictures. It worked so well
that I decided to turn it into a local paper with positive news and
information about the county we live in. Our thought was to leave
out politics, death, destruction, crusades and focus on
the positive side of life. In reality what we publish what is really
going on 95% of the time and that is pretty nice things.
So we did it! Since the moment I first delivered the 3000 papers
(our original first print run), it has been very successful! Here we
are in 2007 with over 12,500 papers and people love the fact we didn't sell
out to the standard form of publication. The website is intended to
be information about our paper, rates, and where you can find it
and to let you know that we will continue to publish the good things
life has to offer. We would like to let all of you know about the
people out there who help others and to make you smile a bit, laugh
or even cry a happy cry!
Please feel free to give us feedback at any time,
(letters) your ideas,
and your submissions and stories,
(articles) and or
inquiries about advertising,
(advertising).
Thank you all of you who have read the paper,
subscribe and supported our paper since the year 2000!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
